Queen of Hearts is back (but taking a summer vacation until SEPTEMBER 6th)

The Jackpot

The Queen of Hearts 50/50 Raffle to benefit the Emerson and Washington PTOs is back! The jackpot for the September 6th drawing is now over $25,500. Only one person can win each time we draw, and that winner splits the jackpot 50/50 with the PTOs.  If there is no winner, the jackpot rolls over, and a new chance to enter starts again.

The Tickets

Tickets go on sale each Wednesday following the weekly drawing. Purchase tickets online or at The Harp and Fiddle, 110 Main Street, Park Ridge, during operating hours. On Tuesdays prior to the drawing, in-person ticket sales stop at 8:45 pm. Online ticket sales stop at 5 pm on Tuesdays and resume at 10 am on Wednesdays. Purchase online tickets here.

The Gist

Need a quick refresher? Watch the video or read on to learn how it works:

THE RAFFLE BOARD

It’s a deck of 54 cards (including 2 jokers) randomly placed in rows and numbered. The board came to us sealed, and no one knows which card hides under which number.  We start with all cards face down on the board and reveal 1 card each week until the Queen of Hearts is revealed.  The raffle board is used for the duration of the progressive raffle.

THE RAFFLE TICKET AND STUB

Players, 18 years of age and older, buy raffle Tickets each week for $5 a piece. The raffle ticket has two sections—the STUB and the TICKET.   The STUB and TICKET have identical serial numbers.

On the raffle STUB you write your name, telephone number, and a number between 1 to 54 from the list of facedown cards.  (You do NOT pick a number where the card has been revealed.) You give the STUB portion to the ticket seller and you keep the raffle TICKET. If you win, you’ll need your TICKET to claim your prize—so don’t lose it.

THE RAFFLE DRAWING

We’ll pull ONE STUB from the raffle drum on Tuesday at 9:00pm at Harp & Fiddle. Remember how you picked a number from 1-54 and wrote it on your stub when you bought your ticket? The number on the stub we pull is the number we’ll open on the raffle board. If we find the Queen of Hearts— the name on the stub wins! If it’s any other card, the pot rolls over to the next week—but the tickets don’t. You’ll need to reenter the next week, if you want to win.

THE RAFFLE PRIZE

When the Queen of Hearts is picked, 50% of the net proceeds will go to the winner. Winner does not need to be present but must present the winning ticket to claim the prize. Rules and regulations apply.
